Hackney Stories: Walks and Tours

The Hackney Stories walks and tours programme was a valuable opportunity for all the family to learn - while getting some gentle exercise. Some walks were artist-led, while others included swimming and singing

Almshouse Tours
Geffrye Museum
3rd, 14th, 17th June or 4th July. Please ring for times

Adults - £2.00, Friends, disabled visitors + children under 16 FREE. Places: first-come, first-served.
Visit the Geffrye’s restored 18th-century almshouse, and get a glimpse into the lives of London’s poor and elderly in the 1780s and 1880s.


Heart of Hackney Historical Walk
Hackney Museum. Meet on the steps of Hackney Town Hall
13th June and 11th July. 11.00am, 1.5 - 2 hours

A guided walk through the heart of historic Hackney, taking in the Narrow Way, and ending at Sutton House

An interactive walk along the Regent’s Canal with Independence Day in mind; including readings and song.  Ending at the Building Exploratory where you are welcome to enjoy the exhibition.
